Our Fight For Survival Is A Blog that chronicles the hardships my wife faces in attempting to hopefully receive a kidney and liver transplant that will save her life. It also discusses my now 8 year journey caring for her full time while not being eligible to be paid to do so as spouses in New York State aren’t allowed to be paid caregivers. It chronicles my battle to keep her alive on a daily basis amidst poverty and excessive waiting for a permanent home. It talks about living on $1,400 a month and the lack of a quality of life I can provide her on that impossible figure. It discusses the good,bad,and ugly of the medical and Social Service System we are forced to depend on to stay alive. It also discusses my infinite gratitude to the online “family” that are rooting for and supporting us everyday. Most importantly,I discuss my wife’s extraordinary courage and willpower to live when all the odds are against her. It is also an avenue to attempt to raise much needed funds in order for us to survive and most importantly to provide my wife with everything she needs that we can’t possibly afford.
